AI dungeon has been around for a while and I have been messing with it. People have found that it is good at following some formats when you start with it.
I have been testing how to get rulesets from it.
Nothing great so far but here is the story of Jack who... well, didn't read them I guess.
My experience is, that when decreasing the randomness, it sometimes becomes stale and repetitive.
With the normal randomness, the story very often becomes dark and gruesome.
It seems the amount of stories involving torture and killing was very high. It's a big turn-off when suddenly the other person in your story pulls out a knife and threatens to kill you, or bites off pieces of you(!). Really not that funny...
Pretty good if you like reading stories. You can influence pretty much anything and the AI keeps up with most of it, however it can mess up a lot. Forgetting names or mixing them up. Adds totally new characters/switching gender or swaps you out for somebody else completely.
And sometimes the AI just repeats a paragraph over and over and over and over, but you can just step in there yourself aswell.
It doesn't remember everything but you can always correct the story the way you want... Until all of a sudden a meteor crashes to the ground and kills you... Or the side character crushes your skull.. or takes a blade and kills you out of the blue :D
All in all it's pretty good!!! ;)
If you really try to make use of all the features, creating quests and add notes to something that the AI should remember, it becomes a pretty neat adventure... In many ways
